It was another weekend of scintillating football in the Premier League, as both ends of the table sharpened their respective battles. We take a look at how each club’s loanees fared this weekend.

Manchester City 4-1 Liverpool

Just the one loanee present in this game, with Arthur Melo (Juventus) remaining an unused substitute as Jurgen Klopp’s side slipped to eighth in the table, following a 4-1 hammering by Manchester City. And they said no Haaland, no party!

AFC Bournemouth 2-1 Fulham

Jack Stephens (Southampton) played the full 90 minutes for the Cherries as they continued to pile the misery on Marco Silva and Fulham, securing three vital points in their quest to retain their status in England’s top flight.

Hamed Traore (Sassuolo) also played 20 minutes to close out the game as the Cherries secured a second win in three games.

Meanwhile, Manor Solomon (Shaktar Donetsk) couldn’t continue his form in this game, as he played the full game out wide for Fulham.

Daniel James (Leeds United) and Cedric Soares (Arsenal) both appeared in the 69th and 82nd minutes respectively.

Arsenal 4-1 Leeds United

Weston McKennie (Juventus) the sole loanee in this game, as he featured off the bench in the 65th minute. It wasn’t enough in terms of damage limitation however, as the Gunners scored in the 84th minute to keep the pressure on the Whites, who remain in a precarious position in the Premier League table.

Brighton & Hove Albion 3-3 Brentford

Arguably the game of the weekend, Levi Colwill (Chelsea) featured in central defence for the Seagulls, as they came back on three separate occasions to secure a point against positional rivals Brentford. Kevin Schade (SC Freiburg) remained on the bench for the away side.

Crystal Palace 2-1 Leicester City

A game which saw Brendan Rodgers meet his demise at Leicester City also saw Tete (Shaktar Donetsk) hooked at half time in favour of Ricardo Pereira as Rodgers looked to soak up the pressure that Palace continued to pile on. Albert Sambi-Lokonga (Arsenal) remained on the bench for the home side.

Nottingham Forest 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Matheus Cunha (Atletico Madrid) started up top for Wolves, whilst Boubacar Traore (FC Metz) continues to nurse an injury.

Forest, on the other hand, fielded on-loan Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas, with the Costa Rican continuing to impress. Renan Lodi (Atletico Madrid) also featured, coming on in the 61st minute, whilst Chris Wood (Newcastle United) and Dean Henderson (Manchester United) remain sidelined.

Chelsea 0-2 Aston Villa

Joao Felix (Atletico Madrid) started up front for Chelsea in what proved to be manager Graham Potter’s final game in charge of the Blues. He was sacked on Sunday after 37 games and seven months in charge of the London club, who have spent a small fortune on players this year. Denis Zakaria (Juventus) did not feature in the matchday squad for the Blues.

West Ham 1-0 Southampton

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (Arsenal) was the sole loanee in this game, as his Southampton side extended their winless run to four games with defeat at the London Stadium on Sunday.

Newcastle United 2-0 Manchester United

It was game to forget for Wout Weghorst (Burnley) as he took just 11 touches all game before being hooked in the 62nd minute. Jack Butland (Crystal Palace) remained an unused substitute for the Red Devils, who will look to regain form under Erik Ten Hag.

Everton 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Dejan Kulusevski (Juventus) played the full game for Tottenham as tempers reached boiling point at Goodison Park last night, with both sides receiving red cards. Arnaut Danjuma (Villareal) was an unused substitute, whilst Clement Lenglet (FC Barcelona) did not feature in the matchday squad.

Sean Dyche named on-loan Wolves centre half Conor Coady on the bench in this game, with the England international remaining there for the rest of the night. Ruben Vinagre (Sporting CP) did not feature for the Toffees.

That rounds up Matchweek 29’s loan action! We look forward to bringing you next week’s summary.
